Cook the cauliflower in salted, boiling water until not quite tender, about 3 minutes. Drain well.

Melt the butter in a small frying pan over medium heat. Add the cauliflower. Season with salt and pepper. Lower heat and cook gently until the cauliflower starts to brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
