  • pie pastry
  • 3 tablespoons whipping cream or sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons butter
  • sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • 700 g peeled thinly sliced onion
  • Recipe preparation steps

    Preheat oven at 190°C.
  • 2
    Melt the butter and fry the onion rings until golden in a saucepan over medium heat, remove from fire when golden.

    Beat the eggs with whipping cream or sour cream and add to the onion rings. Add salt and pepper and a hint of sugar .

    Prick the pie shell with a fork. Pour the cream over the onions.

    Spread onion ring mixture on pastry base .

    Bake for 25-30 minutes at 180°C.
  • 7
    Remove from oven 10 minutes before end of baking time and sprinkle with gruyère cheese. Then bake for a further 10 minute.
