Recipe's Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons dry white wine
  • 2 pinches of thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper
  • 12 to 18 slices french stick
  • 500 g onions, peeled and finely sliced
  • 80 g butter
  • 50 g plain flour
  • 200 g gruyere grated
  • 1.5 l chicken stock
  • Recipe preparation steps

    Brown the onions in the butter. Add the flour and cook for 2 mins. Then add the wine, herbs and stock. Bring to the boil and then simmer for 15 mins.

    Place the grated gruyere on the French stick slices. Then put them under the grill until melted.

    Place 2 to 3 slices in each soup bowl. Now pour the soup over and serve immediately
