  • a few drops of kirsch
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons double cream
  • 750 g apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 250 g shortcut pastry

    Line a tart tin with the pastry and arrange the apple slices on the top. Sprinkle with 2 to 3 tablespoons of sugar.

    Bake in a preheated oven to 350°F for 15 mins until the pastry is firm but not brown.

    Whisk the egg and 1 tablespoon sugar, double cream and a few drops of kirsch. Pour the mixture over the apples and continue to bake for 15 mins or until the cream has set. Serve hot .
