  • salt and pepper
  • 450 g carrots, peeled and chopped small
  • 350 g potatoes, peeled and chopped small
  • 100 g turnips, peeled and chopped small
  • 50 g butter
  • 180 g onions, peeled and chopped small
  • 1.4 l warm water
  • Recipe preparation steps

    Melt 1oz of butter in a large pan and cook the carrots and turnips over a low heat until they are soften but without colouring. Stir occasionally, add the salt and pepper, water and potatoes. Simmer uncovered for a full hour after boiling point is reached.

    Meanwhile cook the onion in the rest of the butter and set to one side.

    Blend the soup and if it is to thick dilute with a little milk. Mix in the cooked onion check the seasoning. Simmer for a further 10 mins and then serve
  • Ready !
