A native of Touraine where he was born in 1969, Philippe Guerin receives wise advice from his father from a very early age which predestines him for the art de la table. Demonstrating his true talent at a young age , Philippe Guérin soon becomes the pupil of reputed French chefs and progresses naturally from the age of 16 to work in award-winning establishments such the Grand Hôtel du Lion d’Or in Romorantin (2 Michelin stars).

He then pursues his early career at the Abbaye Saint Michel in Tonnerre, then with Alain Chapel in Mionnary (3 Michelin stars) with Jean Bardet in Tours (2 Michelin stars) and in the Jardin des Sens in Montpellier (3 Michelin stars).

In 1995 Philippe Guérin asserts his talent by becoming second chef at the restaurant Les Peintres in Cagnes sur Mer alongside Alain Llorca. The latter decides to keep him on when he takes over the kitchens of the Chantecler restaurant in the Négresco hotel in Nice.

In February 2001, the Oetker group appoints him to the post of Head Chef at the Château du Domaine Saint Martin. Philippe Guérin has been offering traditional Mediterranean cooking there ever since, which is both light, sophisticated and of Italian inspiration.

“My cooking ... is based on the reputation of Provence and Italy, my knowledge of produce and real taste. I invite you to gourmand pleasures in the pure tradition of the Château du Domaine Saint Martin.”
