Laney Honey began as a hobby for R.D. (Dave) Laney in the 1970's, and became a business (Laney Family Honey Co.) in 1982.

Why Laney Honey?
Rather than mixing all of our honeys together under one label, we separate our honeys by floral source. Thus we are able to offer many varieties of honey -- all flavored only by the nectar gathered by the honeybee. Imagine the delectable taste of our exquisite honeys on your favorite bread, ice cream, or coffee cake, or in coffee and tea.

How do we get the different flavors?
We do not add any flavorings to our honeys. Hives of bees are placed in choice fields of a particular flower in bloom, such as blueberry or clover blossoms. Since bees usually fly within a two-mile radius, they will visit only the flowers close at hand. Once the bloom is finished, the bees are removed, and the honey is extracted from the hive.

Today, we have twelve distinct varieties of honey. Most of our honeys are from the midwestern United States, although we now offer Orange Blossom (from Florida) and Wild Blackberry (from British Columbia).

Laney Honey is unpasteurized, unfiltered and minimally processed. This is the only way to preserve the distinctive flavors, trace minerals, vitamins, and pollen grains found in honey. We hope you will try and enjoy our great regional honeys.

Dave, Kay, Linda, and all of our loyal employees
